Experienced Front-end web developer with extensive track record of building and maintaining complex web sites from start to finish. Likes to innovate while looking for ways to improve existing solutions. Brings maturity, organizational skills and people skills from consulting practice. Self-directed, works well in teams, and enjoys solving difficult problems. Has Back-end web developer experience from previous jobs.
INNOVATION: Created the world's first large electoral boundaries Google Maps application with over 120,000 points. This was at a time when Google Maps was designed to only handle about 1000 points effectively before it started to slow down. But I found ways to make it work much faster to display all those points. Users could type in their address and my application would show them on the map which riding they were in.
OPTIMIZATION: Have decreased load times of websites by 96%.
TALENTED: Designed and programmed entire sites of over 2000 pages handling the front-end and the back-end.
HARD WORK: Worked on several government inquires where the client wanted the public to be able to make submissions. Each submission would then trigger an internal workflow where the submission had to be vetted, translated, and checked for accuracy. Every step along the way a different person needed to be notified and able to see what submissions where ready for them to work on. My code had to keep track of the state that these submissions where in and notify the correct person of what they needed to do.
BEING CHALLENGED: Created an interactive calendar which displayed hearing dates for a government inquiry. The calendar would allow the public to see who would be testifying and what topic that particular hearing would cover. As exhibits were being entered the calendar allowed the public to get these exhibits in real time.
